Our greatest wish is to spend the day with all of you!
We also appreciate that a lot of you are travelling quite far to get to Munich.

Dresscodes

Church:

Formal

Think of it a bit like cocktail attire, though suits and ties are preferred.
Hats or fascinators are not required, shoulders can be bare, anything strapless should be covered by a shawl/jacket though.

Dinner and Party:

Artist’s Ball

Black tie and evening gowns are a loose term, though long dresses / jumpsuits and dark suits / tuxedos are expected. (Prom-style poofy dresses would be too much.)
However, feel free to get creative - the more colour, the better!

Brunch:

Hangover Chique

This is more tongue-in-cheek than anything else - the sister of the bride has threatened to show up in a dressing gown, heels and a towel turban.
Basically feel free to dress down with a touch of glam, we know a lot of you will be travelling that day!

Transport

For those staying in Munich:

There will be a bus to Andechs picking you up at a central Munich location (tbc) and dropping you there again after the reception.
With church starting at 10:30am and everyone needing to get up the hill to church (the bus can’t do that), the bus will be leaving Munich at 8:45am.
After the reception, the bus will be leaving Andechs at 2:30pm, with a rough ETA in Munich around 3:30.

For those staying in Grünwald:

The bus to Andechs will pick you up by or close to the Schlosshotel (exact location tbc) and drop you there again after the reception.
With church starting at 10:30am and everyone needing to get up the hill to church (the bus can’t do that), the bus will be leaving Grünwald at 9:00am.
After the reception, the bus will be leaving Andechs at 2:30pm, with a rough ETA in Grünwald around 3:15.

For those who prefer to drive:

There is plenty of free parking available in Andechs, that early in the morning you will certainly find a spot. Parking cannot be reserved in advance.

A note about the evening:

In the evening we strongly recommend public transport or cabs/Uber, since we are extremely central with very limited parking.

There are no busses or shuttles organised for the evening, but there will be cabs readily available due to our very central location.
The U-Bahn (underground) also runs through the night.
